ROMANO CAGNONI photographer

 

Romano Cagnoni leaves in Tuscany for London in 1958. Works with Simon Guttmann (founder of modern photo-journalism with Robert Capa, Felix Mann, Kurt Hutton, Cartier-Bresson, etc.).

Documented world events published in international magazines: Vietnam, Cambodia, Nigerian Civil War, Israel, South America, Northern Ireland, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Chechnya, Kosovo, etc.

Won the USA Overseas Press Award, The German bronze medal Art Directors' Club and many Italian prizes. Cagnoni held exhibitions worldwide.

Sunday Times former editor, Harold Evans, in his book "Pictures on a Page" mentions Cagnoni as being one of the most famous photographers in the world with Henry Cartier-Bresson, Bill Brandt, Don McCullin and Eugene Smith. Romano Cagnoni lascia la Toscana per Londra nal 1958. A Londra lavora con Simon Guttmann (fondatore del moderno fotogiornalismo con Robert Capa, Felix Mann, Kurt Hotton, Cartier-Bresson, etc).

Negli anni ha documentato importanti eventi mondiali come Vietnam, Cambogia, guerra civile in Nigeria, Israele, Sud America, Irlanda del Nord, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Chechnya, Kosovo, e ha pubblicato i suoi lavori su riviste internazionali.

Ha vinto l'USA Overseas Press Award, il German Bronze Medal Art Director's Club e diversi premi italiani.

Ha esibito le sue opere in tutto il mondo e l'editore del Sunday Times, Harold Evans, l'ha menzionato nel suo "Pictures on a page", come uno dei maggiori fotografi al mondo, con Carteir-Bresson, Bill Brandt, Don McCullin ed Eugene Smith.
