A winning combination of Impressionist paintings and photographs of the same period which portray the same places depicted on canvas. In addition to works from the photographic archives, being shown are postcards and prints by Rouen photographer Louis Chesneau. What these landscape painters and photographers shared was their work “en plein air” at the turn of the 19th century, created on the banks of the Seine and in the cities of Rouen and Le Havre, with special focus on their ports. Being shown at the same time are the winning works of students who participated in the “Pixels” photography competition which focused—naturally—on Impressionism.
